In a groundbreaking double achievement, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has made history on both the global tech and national health fronts. The acclaimed actress has become the voice of Meta AI across several countries, while also being appointed as the first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by India’s Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Padukone shared the exciting news with her followers via a video on Instagram, announcing her collaboration with Meta AI. The video features her saying:

She further elaborated on the partnership, stating: “Okay, so this is pretty cool I think! I'm now part of Meta AI and you can chat with my voice in English across India, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.”
With this collaboration, Padukone becomes the first Indian personality to lend her voice to Meta AI. She joins an elite group of global celebrities, including Academy Award-winner Judi Dench and actress Awkwafina, who have also voiced AI avatars for Meta.
In addition to her foray into artificial intelligence, Padukone has also taken on a significant public service role. On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, she was officially appointed as the first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Expressing her gratitude in a heartfelt post, Padukone wrote: “On World Mental Health Day, I am deeply honoured to be appointed as the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's first-ever Mental Health Ambassador.”
She added: “Led by our Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi, our nation has taken meaningful steps to place mental health at the heart of public health. Through my own journey and the work we've done at @tlllfoundation over the past decade, I've seen how much is possible when we come together to build a mentally healthy India. I look forward to working under the guidance of Shri."
Padukone has been a vocal advocate for mental health since founding the Live Love Laugh Foundation in 2015, following her own battle with depression. Her appointment marks a significant recognition of her work in this critical space.
These achievements mark yet another milestone in Padukone’s career, reflecting her growing influence beyond cinema. From being the voice of one of the world’s most advanced AIs to driving change in public health policy, Deepika Padukone continues to redefine what it means to be a global icon.
