According to media reports, Nipsey Hussle was shot in front of his own clothing store at a close range on Sunday afternoon, by a man who later fled in a getaway car.

Grammy Nominated Rapper Nipsey Hussle Shot Dead

Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in broad daylight in the city of Los Angeles. The sudden death of the 33-year-old rising star has sparked an outpouring of grief from fellow celebrities, while the Los Angeles mayor blamed it to the senseless gun violence in the country.


According to media reports, Nipsey Hussle was shot in front of his own clothing store at a close range on Sunday afternoon, by a man who later fled in a getaway car.


Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted, “Our hearts are with the loved ones of Nipsey Hussle and everyone touched by this awful tragedy. L.A. is hurt deeply each time a young life is lost to senseless gun violence”.


In this incident, two other people were also injured. A police spokesman has informed that the suspected shooter is still at large. According to a Los Angeles Times report, the shooting was planned and related to a gang.


Though the Grammy-nominated rapper has found little commercial success but was highly revered and famous among his peers. His death has shocked the community of musicians triggering an outpouring of tributes from hip-hop royalty.


Rapper of “Gone 2 soon”, Snoop Dogg posted on his Instagram, “I am so sad right now I’ll just reflect on the good times we had”.


Superstar Rihanna posted on her social media handle that “this does not make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! I'm so sorry this happened to you @nipseyhussle”.


Crowd gathered outside his clothing store to pay him tribute with flowers. One cartridge case has been found lying on the ground.


Hussle remained underground for large part of career from the rap circuit of the city, but he struggled to find fame and started selling his own mix tapes recently and his tapes become so popular that rap king Jay-Z has once bought 100 of mixes for $100 each.


This year Hussle’s “Victory Lap” has found a place in a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Album category. It was his first formal album.


The artist was recently involved in a project to reclaim the California city’s southern districts for the black residents who inspired most of his songs.


Hussle’s whose original name was Ermias Asghedom is seen as a lynchpin of the community he came from. In many occasions, he used to distribute most of his earning to the community.


In his early life Hussle was associated with the notorious Crips gang, once speaking to the Los Angeles Times newspaper he said, “We dealt with death, with murder. It was like living in a war zone, where people die on these blocks and everybody is a little bit immune to it. I guess they call it post-traumatic stress, when you have people that have been at war for such a long time”.

Hours before his death Hussle tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing” which means he must have some indication.
