Heavy Shelling by Pak Forces on LOC, India Responding

Indian Defence forces established a new mark when they launched missile attacks on Pakistan as a part of their retaliation measure for the Pahalgam attack. The missile attack took place in the early hours of May 7th, which destroyed 9 terror camps.

After the huge massacre in Pakistan, forces started huge shelling, leading to the death of 6 civilians and injuries to more than 30. The constant firing and shelling are part of the retaliation of the Pakistan Army for the terror camp missile attack. Currently, the line of control is disturbed, and the Indian Army is responding equally to the shelling.

Pakistan has claimed that the violation of the Ceasefire occurred because of the missile attacks on the terror groups. During the night of 7th May, Pakistan resorted to constant shelling from the LOC and IB in Jammu and Kashmir, claimed a reputed source. Three civilians lost their lives and many more were injured because of the heavy shelling. Poonch, Kuwara, and Baramulla districts were affected, where shops and stores were damaged.

Srinagar airport is also shut for operations until further notice, as it is the nearest airport to Pakistan that can be affected if the Pakistan Army launches more retaliatory operations. Many roads have also been blocked by the Indian Forces as a safety measure, which can create a challenge for the traffic movement.

Among the deceased people, a woman from the Mankote district lost her life while her 13-year-old daughter was injured. In a message, the Divisional Commissioner claimed that all schools and educational institutes near the LOC have been closed. "Given the prevailing situation, all schools, colleges, and educational institutions in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch will remain closed today," claimed the Divisional Commissioner.

Indian forces are retaliating in the same manner as Pakistan and are continuing till late at night, as per the last reports. The frequency of shelling also increased, which led to Indian forces taking shelter for their survival. It was the 13th night of firing in the region of Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam attack which happned on the 22nd May 2025.

“Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali in the Poonch-Rajauri area,” claimed the Directorate General of the Indian Army. The violation of the war was quite limited after India and Pakistan signed the Ceasefire treaty. However, the current war like conditions have forced both the nations to retaliate.
