Here’s Why Julia Roberts’ ‘Homecoming’ is Intriguing

The official trailer of ‘Homecoming’ has already been released and the scenes appear to be quite gripping. Julia Roberts who goes by the name of Heidi has worked in an establishment as a caseworker that assists soldiers who are transitioning from soldier to civil life. Heidi, however, has quit the establishment and has begun a new life working as a waitress and living with her mother. Years later the caseworker turned waitress comes across an investigator who is probing into her role in the facility as they’ve received a complaint about the program.

The trailer shows the actress interacting with young men, probably soldiers in the facility while she was employed there. The atmosphere in the establishment appears to be very unsettling, infused with dark secrets. Throughout the trailer, the lines “We are here to help them” is being constantly repeated. Heidi asks one of the soldiers who has enrolled for the program to record an audio wherein he has to admit that his participation in the program is voluntary and unforced.

Though Roberts mentions “Homecoming is a safe space to process your military experiences and think about what comes next”, but is it really a safe place?  Why the men who are enrolled in the program appear to be tensed? What complaint did the investigators receive about the program and what the program is all about? The official trailer of the ‘Homecoming’ will coerce you to reflect on these questions. During the investigations, Heidi eventually discovers secrets and stories that she probably didn’t know about all along.

This intriguing TV series also stars Stephen James who plays the role of a young veteran who wants to join civilian life. Bobby Cannavale portrays the role of Heidi’s supervisor as Colin Belfast. Shea Whigham plays the role of the investigative bureaucrat from the defence department who is trying to retrieve information about the Homecoming facility. This TV series has been directed by Sam Esmail and will be releasing on Amazon Video on November 2, 2018.
