An aesthetically pleasing 2020 calendar has been making headlines for its very unique appeal. Celebrity photographer G Venket Ram is the man behind this much talked about calender.
It is an ode to Raja Ravi Varma’s commendable work who is a celebrated artist of the nineteenth century. The calendar has a traditional and a sensual touch to it. It features twelve famous south Indian female personalities from the world of cinema and dance.
The list includes actress Samantha Ruth, Bahubali actress Ramya Krishnan, Shruthi Haasan, Bharatnatyam dancer Shobana and many other prominent names. They ladies can be seen dressed in exquisite sarees coupled with heavy jewelry as muses of the celebrity painter.
What is so fascinating about this calendar is that every actress has recreated Raja Ravi Varma’s original work to the T. They say that nothing can beat an original however we must say that for once the duplicate looks as good as the original!
The impressive calendar is associated with the charitable trust called ‘Naam’ which is founded by Mani Ratnam’s wife- Suhasini.
All the female artists' names are featured in the calendar. Actress Samantha wrote, “Always the best working with you recreating Ravi Varma's work for Naam. So glad I could be a part of this meaningful project.”
