Priyanka Kandwal is the new internet sensation. Her videos in Tik Tok lip-syncing Madhubala’s songs are taking the internet by storm and she’s been bestowed with the moniker ‘Tik Tok ki Madhubala.’ 

She closely resembles Madhubala and emulates her mannerisms which make the videos amusing to watch. All the videos are recorded in black and white. She has sung popular songs of yesteryears like Dekhne Mein Bhola Hai from Bambai Ka Babu, Haal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi and so on.

After receiving enormous comments on her catchy videos Priyanka responded to her followers by saying, “Thank you everyone for liking my videos on Madhubala Ji’s songs. Definitely she is magic, so no comparison. It's just for fun. I made these videos without thinking that you people would really appreciate.”

 

Priyanka had no idea that she resembled Madhubala and it’s only when someone commented on Google, “Is she from the Madhubala family?” she went ahead and saw the movie-‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and soon realized that there’s some similarity indeed. 

Priyanka is savoring all the attention showered upon her as after all she’s been compared to one of India’s iconic actress of all time. “It’s an honor to be told I resemble one of the most beautiful actresses, Madhubala Ji”, she said. 

 

 

Besides attracting viewers by creating her Tik Tok videos, Priyanka is also an Indian television actress who made her debut with TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ on Zee TV. She also featured in serials like ‘Jaana Na Dil Se Door’ in Star Plus however she’s yet to get her big break in Bollywood. 


 

 

The New York Times last year published obituaries titled ‘Overlooked’ of 15 remarkable women and Madhubala was one of them. Aisha Khan from New York Times said, “She died... as an icon of beauty and tragedy - her dazzling career, unhappy love life and fatal illness more dramatic than any movie she starred in.”
