Here’s Why ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Sends an Important Message to Viewers

‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ has received some amazing reviews from critics worldwide and the movie has been declared a success. This time the makers of the movie have presented the big wide world of the internet to its audience. A tricky topic nonetheless an important one which has been introduced in a hilarious way.

The movie shows the perils of the internet through the eyes of a video game avatar. It depicts how the internet works in today’s fast world. If used appropriately it could make you and if handled dangerously it could destroy you. A great message for both children and adults alike!

The movie introduces us to Ralph and Vanellope who became best friends after escaping from their respective video games in the last film. The two of them hang out every night at the Litwak’s Family Fun Center and Arcade. Ralph shows Vanellope a new track while playing Sugar Rush however she accidentally breaks the wheel of the game. Now Vanellope is desperately in need of the vintage part or else she would be rendered jobless.

The duo decides to get the part from eBay and thus plunge into the internet world. Their journey turns into a roller coaster ride thereon while navigating the complexities of the internet. The internet is depicted synonymous to real life. They come across brands like Google, Amazon and computer programs with pop up videos. There are ordinary links which can transport one to a different and exciting world altogether at the click of a button.

The pair is able to successfully acquire the wheel via auction however they need more money to make the complete purchase. The duo head to another online game called Slaughter Race where they intend to steal a car to cover the auction money. It is here where Vanellope develops a friendship with Shank, the car’s owner. This doesn’t go down too well with Ralph who is insecure and possessive of Vanellope. Shank, however, advises the duo to visit BuzzTube; a video-sharing site to earn some extra money. Ralph’s videos attract viewers and he becomes a sensation overnight. The fame does come with a price though. He’s hurt seeing the rude comments of viewers below his own videos.

There is a significant scene in the movie where Vanellope is transported to a Green Room where she meets all the Disney Princesses that have previously appeared on screen. They inspire her to follow her own dreams thereby coercing her to get back to Slaughter Race much to the dislike of Ralph.

Ralph now has enough money to purchase the vintage wheel for his best friend but will Vanellope follow her own dreams instead? Will Vanellope’s dreams become a hindrance to her friendship with Ralph? The movie sends an important message about making choices but respecting the choices of others as well. It also talks about love, friendships and letting go at the right time.
