Here’s Why Shah Rukh Khan And His Family Are Moving Out of The Iconic ‘Mannat’
Shah Rukh Khan and his family are temporarily moving out of ‘Mannat’ as the sea-facing bungalow is set to undergo major renovations. The family will stay in a lavish apartment in Pali, which Shah Rukh Khan has leased for Rs. 24 lakh per month.
‘Mannat’, which is considered a tourist attraction site, is ready to undergo massive changes!
Shah Rukh Khan and his family will soon be shifting to Pali, Mumbai, as their Mannat residence in Mumbai will soon be renovated. The renovation is set to take place in May, according to reports.
The renovation work in Mannat will take place for a few years. Some reports say that Gauri Khan took permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to add two more floors to the Mannat annexe.
‘Mannat’ is a Grade III heritage structure, which means any changes made to the mansion will require proper permissions from authorities. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 25 crore.
SRK bought the 27,000 square foot mansion in 2001 for Rs. 13 crore. It was while shooting for Yes Boss that his eyes fell on the heritage property. He bought the sea facing bungalow from Nariman Dubash in 2001. ‘Mannat’ was built in 1914, and it belonged to a Parsi family.
The value of the mansion now stands at Rs. 200 crore. It features a grand library, a private theatre, swimming pool, an equipped gym, and a terrace with beautiful interiors.
Reports say that the actor has leased four floors in the gorgeous apartment in Pali for a whopping Rs. 24 lakhs per month.
SRK's production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has entered into a leave and licence agreement with film producer Vashu Bhagnani's children, actor Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.
Each floor is said to be spaced out, big enough to accommodate the actor’s security and staff. He has leased two duplex flats on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors in the Pali Hills building.
On the work front, SRK will be seen in the action-thriller film, King, directed by Siddharth Anand.
