In a dazzling display of grit and brilliance, team India lifted their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup trophy, defeating South Africa Women by 52 runs in a pulsating final at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy.
The spectacular match between two powerful teams took place in Navi Mumbai, on 2 November 2025.
A brief rain delay added suspense to the evening, but the match resumed without major disruption, allowing fans to witness a full-throttle finale under the lights.
The women in blue exhibited immense skill, resilience, and perseverance throughout the ODI World Cup.
As the final wicket fell, celebrations erupted across the stadium and the country. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur lifted the trophy amid roaring applause, with the team hailed for their unity, hard-work, and flair.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Devajit Saikia, announced a cash prize of ₹51 crore for the ICC Women’s World Cup-winning Team India.

In another shot the duo was joined by colleagues Arundhati Reddy and Radha Yadav. It was captioned, “Are we still dreaming?”
