Hollywood Actress Drew Barrymore Shares a Special Message for India

Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore has urged people across the globe to help India in its fight against the coronavirus. 

She began the special message by saying that India holds a special place in her heart and she has a deep-rooted connection with the country. She always loved India for its culture, its people and so much more. 

“My heart goes out to the people of India who are trying hard to hold it together and my sincere wishes and prayers to you to stay strong”, she expressed.

“A small contribution could really help and make a giant difference, and even save a life! I’m doing my bit and urge you to do whatever is in your capacity”, she added. 

The video was specially recorded on the sets of ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ which is telecasted on Zee Café in India. 

Many international celebs like Jennifer Aniston, Hugh Jackman, Robert Pattinson, singers Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes have come forward and appealed to their followers on social media to help India by donating to relief funds in the country.

Jennifer Aniston raised three posts on her Instagram stories calling attention to the current covid crisis in India. Her posts reach approximately 36.5 million followers. “A severe second wave of coronavirus infections has swept over India, setting global records for new infections each day over the past five days (sic)”, she wrote. 

She urged followers to donate to Americares a non-profit organization that is raising money for immediate relief aid for India. Americares works for individuals that are affected by disasters or crisis. She also insisted that one doesn’t need to only donate and that we can use social media platforms to raise awareness too.

Kudos to celebs like Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore who are not only contributing but also using various platforms to raise awareness about India’s current situation and sharing information about various resources where people can directly contribute.
