IIMC’s MBAEx Secures Rank 42 in FT Global MBA Ranking 2020
Among the parameters that the ranking was focused on, IIM Calcutta did better than its nearest Indian competitors on categories like value for money, career progress, female student percentage and more.
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC), one of the premier B-Schools in the country, has secured 42nd rank globally, as part of the Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2020 released recently for its MBAEx Programme. The institute has advanced its rank in the country by 7 notches this year and has been ranked third in India among the four Indian B-Schools listed in the rankings. IIMC officials feel that this elevation in the ranking is a clear proof of the quality of the MBA Programme offered by the Institute, along with several other factors including employment opportunities on completion of the course, salaries earned, research capabilities, alumni recommendation and value for money to name a few.
Among the parameters that the ranking was focused on, IIM Calcutta did better than its nearest Indian competitors on categories like value for money, career progress, female student percentage, inclusion of international board members and number of female faculty as part of the Programme.
Commenting on the ranking, Professor Anju Seth, Director, IIM Calcutta said that this ranking is a reiteration of the quality they stand for at IIM Calcutta. Their team of faculty always strive for the best results and the FT Ranking for the MBAEx Programme is a reflection of that. He would like to congratulate the team behind this MBA Programme for their continuous efforts and initiatives that have made it’s a world-class Programme. He would also like to extend his congratulations and best wishes to their MBA alumni as they continue to excel in all their endeavours, he said.
Professor Amit Dhiman, Chairperson-MBAEx Programme, IIM Calcutta said that they are delighted to know that for the 3rd consecutive year they have improved their ranking in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking significantly. This is a testament to the continual improvement in MBAEx they have always aimed to achieve over the years, he said.
IIMC is the oldest and the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management established by the government of India in November 1961. It was founded in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry and over the years, it has grown into a mature institution with global reputation, imparting high-quality management education. IIMC eventually wants to emerge as an International Centre of Excellence in all facets of management education, rooted in Indian ethos and societal values.
