Indian Air Force Day Celebration in Ghaziabad to Rally a Grand Parade, Air Display and Acrobatics

The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 86th anniversary at the Air Force station Hindan Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. On the official foundation day of the Indian Air Force, a grand parade, followed by an air display and acrobatics by different aircraft are in schedule.

 

 

As per sources, the parade will be reviewed by Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff. Aircraft like Jaguar, Bison, MiG-29, Mirage-2000, SU-30 MKI fighter jets and Rudra helicopters will participate in the air show and acrobatics.

 

In the recent times, the MIG-29, also called the beast of Indian Air Force has gained an upgrade in terms of ferocity and strength.

 

Flight Lieutenant Karan Kohli has said that the Russian made aircraft is now capable of effecting mid-air refuelling, compatible with latest missiles and can launch multi-dimensional attacks.

 

The President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, who is also the Supreme Commander of the IAF took to Twitter to wish the colossal family of the Indian Air Force, “On Air Force Day, we proudly honour our air warriors, veterans, and families of the Indian Air Force. They safeguard our skies with courage and commitment. The resilience, tenacity and zeal of our valiant air warriors is a source of pride for every Indian #PresidentKovind".

 

 

Established in the year 1932, it was an auxiliary air force of the British Empire. The Force has been involved in four wars since 1950, two of them were against Pakistan and the Republic of China.

 



According to the Constitution of India, the mission of IAF is defined as, “Defence of India and every part there of including preparation for defence and all such acts as may be conducive in times of war to its prosecution and after its termination to effective demobilisation.”
