Indian Aircrafts Make a Spectacular Show at the 88th Indian Air Force Anniversary
The Indian Air Force celebrated its 88th Anniversary today at the Air Force Station in Hindom near Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted brave officers on this special occasion by tweeting, “Many congratulations to all the brave warriors of the Indian Air Force on Air Force Day. You not only keep the skies of the country safe but also play a leading role in the service of humanity in times of disaster. Your courage, valour and dedication to protect Maa Bharti inspire everyone.”
President Ram Nath Kovind, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the brave officers of the IAF.
A grand parade-cum-investiture ceremony was held at the Air Force Station at Hindom. CDS Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General Naravane were also present at the event. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspected the IAF Day Parade.
The skies came alive with the splendid display of air manoeuvres by various aircrafts.
The newly acquired Rafale fighter jets were the first to take part in the show. The jets were recently inducted into the IAF on September 10. These jets captivated the audiences with their spectacular air manoeuvres.

Other IAF fighter Jets like the HAL Tejas and the Sukhoi Su-30MKI also impressed the audiences with their outstanding performance in the sky.

Two Chinook helicopters took part in flypast to mark the 88th Anniversary of the IAF.
October 8 is celebrated as the Air Force Day because on this day the Air Force was officially raised in 1932 as the supporting force of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom.
After participating in World War II, Air Force in India came to be called the Royal Indian Air Force in mid 1940s. In 1950 it was called the Indian Air Force after the Republic came into existence. Today the Indian Air Force is the fourth largest in the world.
