Indian Designer Rohit Bal Is Admitted to Medanta Hospital And Is on Life Support

Popular Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal is in critical condition in Medanta Hospital in New Delhi. He’s on ventilator support. 

Rohit Bal was admitted to a hospital three days ago by close friend and model Suraj Dhalia however due to his deteriorating health condition he was moved to Medanta hospital. 

“Bal was rushed to the hospital by model Suraj Dhalia three days ago. His heart was sinking and he was unconscious. His pacemaker gave seven shocks. He was initially taken to Moolchand and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Medanta,”  his friend was quoted as saying by HT City.

Bal suffered a massive heart attack in 2010 after which he underwent angioplasty. The fashion designer’s condition has worsened in the last few months causing him to visit hospitals frequently. Besides, Rohit Bahl has been battling alcohol addiction and has been in and out of rehabilitation centers. 

The ace designer  has been ruling the fashion scene since years. He began his career in 1986 along with his brother Rajiv Bal, together forming the company Orchid Oversea Pvt.Ltd. He started his own independent collection in 1990. 

Rohit’s designs are elaborate and he’s known to use Lotus and Peacock motifs. The designer chooses rich fabrics such as velvet and brocade for his work. Many international celebrities like Cindy Crawford , Uma Thurman and Pamela Anderson have been his clients. 

Mr Bal won 'Designer of the Year' at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006 and the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Awards in 2001.
