Ira Khan Makes her Directorial Debut and Aamir Khan is a Proud Dad

‘Thugs of Hindostan’ actor Aamir Khan took to twitter to proudly wish his daughter Ira Khan on her debut as a director. Ira has directed a play called ‘Medea’ and it is the Indian adaptation of Euripedes’ tragic Greek play of the same name.

Aamir Khan wrote, “Break a leg @khan.ira Proud of you. Love.”

It is clearly evident that Aamir Khan is happy about his dearest daughter’s achievements and which good father wouldn’t be!

Hazel Keech plays the titular role in the play. Ira announced this great news on Instagram by sharing a picture in which she’s seen bending down in one knee and proposing her script to Hazel. And as you can see Hazel gladly accepts the script with excitement written all over her face.

Expressing her happiness Ira Khan wrote: "She said yes. It's amazing to get to work with you as a friend but more importantly, as an actor, I can't wait to see what we make.”

Speaking of her directorial debut Ira told IANS, “There wasn't any particular reason why I picked theatre first and not a movie. I want to do both of them in my life. I just happen to be working backstage and I saw the stage and I thought let's do this. There was no particular reason why I wanted to do a play first and not a movie.”

Ira’s brother Junaid will also feature in the play.

The tragic play revolves around Medea whose husband Jason leaves her for a Greek Princess. Medea then takes revenge by killing her own children as well as Jason’s new wife. She heads to Athens and begins a new life.

The play will premiere in December 2019 and will be showcased across all major cities in India.
