Popular Irish rock band U2 gave its maiden performance in Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Sunday. The Mumbai concert was the last stop for the iconic Joshua tree tour that has been running successfully for the past 32 years. Earlier U2 performed in countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the Philippines.

The band belted out popular tracks like ‘With or Without You’ and ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.’

The group famously comprising of frontman Bono, guitarist The Edge, drummer Larry Mullen, and bassist Adam Clayton opened the concert with the song, ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday.’ The concert ended with a montage of famous women icons across the world which included Indian names like author Arundhati Roy and journalist Gauri Lankesh.

The lively audience at Mumbai also got to witness Indian composer A. R. Rehman’s performance. He along with his two children sang the song ‘Ahimsa’ while Bono joined the trio. Bono described the song as “India’s greatest gift to the world.”
