Is Emma Watson Retiring from Films? Fans are Eager to Know

The key question that’s arising in the minds of Emma Watson’s fans is whether she’s planning to quit acting in films.

It’s been a while since viewers have seen her cast her magic spell on the big screen.

She was last seen in the film ‘Little Women’ as Meg March.

An article in ‘The Daily Mail’ offered hints that she might be settling down with her partner Leo Robinton.

‘The Daily Mail’ quoted a source as saying, “Emma has gone underground, she is settling down with Leo. They're laying low. Maybe she wants a family.”

The rumours of her retiring were soon squashed by her manager Jason Weinberg.

In a statement to EW Jason said “Emma's social media accounts are dormant but her career isn't.”

The clarification came as a big relief to Watson’s fans who were in a state of frenzy after learning about her retirement.

Emma made an impressive entry into the world of cinema with her breakthrough role as Hermione Granger in the famed ‘Harry Potter series.’

She further worked in films like ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ and ‘The Bling Ring’, both films receiving critical acclaim.

She continued her acting journey by playing the character of Belle in the musical romantic fantasy ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and as the innocent and down-to-earth Meg March in ‘Little Women.’

While ‘Beauty and the Beast’ became the highest grossing movie of all time,  ‘Little Women’ got nominated for the Academy Award for the Best Picture.

Every Emma Watson fan knows that she’s a big advocate for women’s rights. She was appointed as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and launched the ‘HeForShe’ campaign which stands for Gender Equality.

Apparently, she was nervous when she delivered the speech at the UN headquarters in which she described feminism as the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities” and declared that the perception of “man-hating” is something that “has to stop.”

Her speech garnered so much attention that the UN’S official website crashed after the press coverage of the event.

It’s no wonder that her fans are craving to see their iconic role model and one of the most influential woman back on the silver screen.
