ISIS Will Be 100% Eliminated from Syria and Iraq in a Week, Says Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump has assured that the Islamic State or ISIS will be completely eliminated from Syria and Iraq by the end of the next week, as he boosted his administration’s direct approach to confront the terror outfits.

The global coalition comprising of the US, the UK and France who are fighting ISIS in Syria and Iraq has declared last year that ISIS is holding only 1 percent of land in Iraq and Syria. Though the terror outfit continues to hold its firm base in Afghanistan, Libya, Sinai and West Africa.

Yet the US Army and its coalition partners and Syrian democratic forces together are successful in liberating large part of the territory in Syria and Iraq, which was once considered to be the main base of ISIS.

US President Donald Trump during his address in the Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS said, “The ISIS has been decimated”. The President also added, “It should be formally announced sometime probably next week that we will have 100 percent of the caliphate. But I want to wait for the official word. I don't want to say it too early”.

Diplomats from nearly 80 countries participated at the State Department’s meeting on the growing anti-ISIS coalition. The President also said that this group would continue to work together for years to come, as ISIS evolves its strategy.

President Trump also said that his administration developed the new approach by empowering the military commander in the field and enabled the partners on the ground, thereby directly confronting the ISIS’s wicket ideology.

As he said, “Over the past two years, the US and its partners have retaken more than 20,000 square miles of land. We have secured one battlefield. And we’ve had victory after victory after victory and retaken both Mosul and Raqqa. We have eliminated more than 60-mile high-value ISIS leaders”.

He also added, “Now, they re-form; we know that. But they’re having a hard time re-forming and I wouldn’t say it’s a great job to have because of us. It’s not exactly - hopefully will not be a sought-after occupation. More than a hundred other top ISIS officials have been eliminated and tens of thousands of ISIS fighters are gone. They’re gone”.

In December, US President Donald Trump surprisingly announced that the US is immediately withdrawing troops from Syria. The move then received black lash from the fellow Republicans, as experts believe that without US presence, the ISIS could reclaim that territory in Syria. But the decision is on hold for now.
