Jamaican Sprinter Usain Bolt Tests Positive for Coronavirus after 34th Birthday

Sprinter Champion Usain Bolt has been tested positive for Coronavirus just a couple of days after he celebrated his 34th birthday bash. 

The Jamaican star took a Covid-19 test on Saturday and the results came out positive.  He’s said to be asymptomatic and is advised to opt for home quarantine. 

“Good morning everybody I’m confirmed of Covid-19. I did a test on Saturday," Bolt said in a video shared on social media.

“[I’m] trying to be responsible so I’m going to stay in, and stay away from my friends. And also, I am having no symptoms, so I am going to quarantine myself. And will wait and see what is the protocol and how should I go about quarantining myself, from the Ministry of Health.

“Just to be safe, I have quarantined myself, and just to take it easy. Be safe over there. Alright, cool.”

It is believed that the birthday bash was attended by big names including cricket star Chris Gayle and England Footballer Raheem Sterling. 

The party footage suggests that Bolt was dancing and singing with the guests; some of whom were not wearing masks and not following the social distancing protocol. 

There have been a total of 1,413 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 16 deaths in the Island of Jamaica. There are fears that the cases may rise in the capital Kingston with 410 fresh cases in the last 14 days. 

Usain Bolt is considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time. He is the world record holder in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4 × 100 metres relay.
