Japan to Launch World’s Fastest Train, Which Can Run 400 kms Per Hour
The train will also bypass China’s Fuxing train, which runs at 10 kph slower than the train, despite being designed with the same top speed capabilities as the ALFA-X.
Japan is preparing to launch the world’s fastest bullet train. The test run of the train ‘ALFA-X’, which is capable of reaching 400 kilometers per hour is scheduled this week, as the country continues to develop the revolutionary mode of transport, thereby setting trends for the world to follow.
The work to develop ALFA-X version of the Shinkansen train started three years ago and is now ready for the initial test run. For full-fledged operations, it still needs another 10 years to develop itself. Once it enters full-fledged operation around 2030, it will run at a speed of up to 360 kph (224 mph), thereby making it the world’s fastest bullet train.
The train will also bypass China’s Fuxing train, which runs at 10 kph slower than the train, despite being designed with the same top speed capabilities as the ALFA-X. The futuristic design of the train features 10 cars and a long pointed nose.
For the test run, the authorities have chosen the line between the cities of Sendai and Aomori, which are nearly 280 kilometers apart. The Test run is going to take place in a day or two and will be conducted during midnight when the line is quiet. The authorities will conduct test runs twice a week, till they are convinced.
The ALFA-X thus marks a new stage of growth for the Shinkansen thereby pushing the world-famous high-speed rail service faster towards the future. The testing debut comes at a time when Japan’s latest high-speed Shinkansen N700S continues with the test runs, that has begun just over a year ago.
The Shinkansen N700S model will enter into operation from next year that is 2020, but its maximum speed of 300 kph is same as other N700 series trains. ALFA-X can easily surpass the speed of all these trains.
The array of new models of trains with excellent speed coincides with Japan’s preparations to host the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The growth of transport and infrastructure is indeed a symbol of the country’s growing and speeding economy.
