Jawed Habib in Legal Trouble over Alleged Bitcoin Investment Fraud
Celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib, his son, and an associate face 32 FIRs for allegedly duping investors in a Bitcoin scam. Victims claim they were promised tenfold returns on investments of ₹5–7 lakh, but received nothing even after two years.
Celebrity hair stylist Jawed Habib, his son Anos Habib, and a third associate are facing serious legal trouble after being named in multiple FIRs related to a Bitcoin investment scam.
In a major development, 32 FIRs have been filed against the trio in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district. They are accused of defrauding several investors by promising high returns through cryptocurrency investments under the banner of their company, Follicle Global Company (FLC).
According to the police, each investor was allegedly lured into paying between ₹5 lakh to ₹7 lakh with the assurance that the investment would yield up to tenfold returns. However, even after a period of two-and-a-half years, no investor has reportedly received any returns.
“They took around ₹5-7 lakh from each investor, claiming that it would yield high returns, but even after two-and-a-half years, none of the investors received their money back,” Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi told PTI.
As the investigation progresses, Jawed Habib’s lawyer, Pawan Kapoor, met with the police on Sunday. He submitted documents highlighting his client’s health concerns and recent personal loss as reasons for his non-appearance.
“Mr. Habib has been dealing with significant health issues, including heart problems, and is mourning the loss of his father. Due to this, he is currently unable to appear in person before the authorities,” Kapoor stated.
The case has raised eyebrows, especially given Habib’s prominence in the beauty and salon industry. Authorities have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made so far, but further investigation is underway.
Police are urging more victims, if any, to come forward, as they continue to scrutinize the company’s financial dealings and the extent of the alleged fraud.
