Jennifer Lopez Honoured with Generation Award at MTV Movie & TV Awards

Jennifer Lopez has been bestowed with the ‘Generation Award’ at this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards 2022 in California. 

 The Generation award “celebrates beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names.”

The actress became emotional during her acceptance speech and also gave a sweet shout out to fiancé Ben Affleck. In her emotional acceptance speech Jennifer said, “I look at those movies and see all the wonderful people that I've been blessed to know and to work with. You're only as good as the people that you work with. And if you're lucky, they make you better. And I have been very lucky in that regard.”

She continued, “As an actor I'm not any of the women that I've played but there's a part that is deeply true to me in each of those characters. Since you cannot create truth unless you've really lived it, I have a different kind of list of 'thank yous' tonight.”

“I want to thank all the people who gave me this life. I want to thank the people who gave me joy and the ones who broke my heart.”

“The ones who were true and the ones who lied to me. I want to thank true love and I want to thank the way that I lied to myself because that's how I knew that I had to grow.”

Jennifer has been on a roller coaster ride and she’s been making the right moves when it becomes to her career. She’s a Grammy recipient, talented and skilled dancer and a popular figure in the movie industry.  

As a successful artist she has been able to strike a balance between work and her family life. JLO expressed that she doesn’t like rejecting business opportunities. She made the most of every opportunity however she soon realised that she was doing herself a “disservice” by not saying no.

Now, after reaching the peak of her career and as she prepares to wed Ben Affleck, she desires to become choosy about her business projects.

The actress wants to focus her time on her family first and if a project takes up her time it has to be really special. 

Action thriller ‘The Mother’ featuring JLO is expected to release on Netflix by end of this year. Another flick ‘Shotgun Wedding’ has been shifted to 2023.
