Johnny Depp to Appear in Jeanne Du Barry; The First Look of Film Goes Viral

There’s good news for all Johnny Depp fans! He’s back on sets and busy shooting a film based on a true french story called ‘Jeanne du Barry.’

This is Johnny’s first film in three years and his first project since he won the “famed” defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Fans are undoubtedly curious to see their favourite star light up the screen after a long hiatus. Going by his previous performances, we know well that Johnny selects interesting characters to portray and this portrayal may not be any different.

The actor is playing the role of King Louis XV who ruled France from 1715 to 1774. It was the second longest reign in the history of France. He was popularly called “the beloved.”

In the first look Depp can be seen blindfolded, adorning a royal attire and a furry head gear. The look has gone viral from the time it was shared.

The shooting began on July 26 in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Further shooting is expected to take place in other European locations.

The movie, directed by French Director Maïwenn, is a historical love story based on the life of the royal courtesan Jeanne du Barry and the French King Louis XV.

The French King is unaware of Madame Du Barry’s social status before falling in love. That said, the king defies all odds and social barriers to be with her.

The movie also features Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noemie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory and India Hair.

Time will tell whether Depp will do justice to the french king’s feisty and benevolent character like he always does.
