Joshua Trump's Power Nap Becomes More Popular than Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address
Joshua Trump is not directly related to Donald Trump but he is popular and often bullied at his school because of his surname.
The annual State of the Union address by the US President Donald Trump in the chamber of the US House of Representatives recently became obscure as Joshua Trump’s power nap during the address became more popular and viral.
Joshua Trump is an eleven-year-old school student, who had been invited as a special guest of the first family to the prestigious annual address by the US President Donald Trump. Joshua Trump is not directly related to Donald Trump but he is popular and often bullied at his school because of his surname.
During the State of the Union Address, the young boy was looking presidential in a formal white shirt and dark tie, but he soon fell victim to drowsiness, dozing off sitting next to the first lady Melenia Trump. The picture soon went viral.
Joshua found fame again, as the picture quickly went viral on Twitter, where many hailed him as an unlikely talisman of the anti-Trump ‘resistance’ while a tweet remarked, ‘Joshua Trump spoke for all Americans’. ‘Joshua Trump is a Trump I can get behind’, quipped another tweet while a third tweet described it as, ‘Not all heroes wear capes’.
Unknowing, the middle school student from Delaware, again became famous, though he hates such kind of fame. He was forced to endure months of bullying for sharing the same surname as the President, Joshua even told his mother he had lost the will to live. In December, he told a news website, “They say are you related to Donald Trump? And I say, ‘would I be here if I’m related to him?”
The continuous ridiculing became so unbearable that his parents eventually pulled him out of the school in 2017 and taught him at home for a year, before re-enrolling him again when he was due to start middle school. The school even instructed the teachers not to use his surname any more and also disciplined five other students, who apologized to the boy.
The first lady Melania Trump has made her anti-bullying campaign the centerpiece of her legacy, apart from her public appearances and roundtable discussions, there have been not much concrete steps and also her campaign has been undermined by frequent criticism because of her husband's abusive public attacks on his critics, political foes and the media.
