Kamala Harris Takes the Covid- 19 Vaccine Live on Television

US Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris received the vaccine manufactured by the US Firm Moderna live on television on Tuesday. 

The vaccine was administered to her by registered nurse Patricia Cummings at the United Medical Center. 

Dressed in black and wearing a matching mask, she took the two shots of vaccine at the United Medical Center, Washington, D.C. 

She has encouraged everyone to take the vaccine. “It is relatively painless. It happens really quickly”, she said. 

The US Food and Drug Administration has granted emergency use authorization (EUA) for two Covid-19 vaccines, one from Pfizer/BioNTECH and the other from Moderna. 

Kamala has urged citizens to take the vaccine in their local communities as they would be familiar with the authorities in the hospital.

She said, “So I want to remind people that right in your community is where you can take the vaccine, where you will receive the vaccine by folks you may know.”

Many public figures are choosing to take the vaccine in public to erase public fear regarding the same. President-elect Joe Biden was also vaccinated live on television on December 21. 

Kamala’s husband Doug Emhoff would be receiving the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday according to a CNN report. President Donald Trump who tested positive for the Coronavirus in October is yet to be vaccinated. 

According to statistics provided by the Johns Hopkins University, America has registered 19,229,960 confirmed coronavirus cases and 334,830 deaths making it the most affected nation in the world.
