Kareena and Deepika Support PM Modi’s Views Who Spoke about Women Empowerment #MannKiBaat

Women of India have been regularly making headlines by earning numerous accolades not only for themselves but for the entire nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about women achievers such as the aforementioned women in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

Women of India have been regularly making headlines by earning numerous accolades not only for themselves but for the entire nation. The list is endless. 

For instance, Pilot Zoya Agarwal and her female crew recently won hearts the world over when they completed one of the world’s longest routes between San Francisco and Bengaluru on January 09, 2021. 

When it comes to music, Indian American singer Priya Darshini made us proud when her debut album ‘Periphery’ was nominated for the 63rd edition of the annual Grammy Awards in the ‘Best New Age Album’ category. Hailing from Mumbai, Priya Darshini has sung for Bollywood as well as non-film projects and now she is in New York pursuing music.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about women achievers such as the aforementioned women in the Mann Ki Baat radio programme on Sunday. He stated that Indian women have displayed their talents in various fields and nation-building activities. 

He particularly highlighted the historic day when the all-women Indian pilot crew completed the longest route from San Francisco to Bengaluru, flying over the North Pole and covering a distance of about 16,000 kilometers. 

He also talked about the two Indian Air Force women officers Flight Lieutenant Bhawana Kanth and Lieutenant Swati Rathore who became the first women pilots to participate in the Republic Day Parade. 

PM Modi congratulated Bhagyashree Sahu who is an engineering student from Rourkela, Orissa. Bhagyashree used to collect soft stones en route to her college. She began painting on these stones using Pattchitra style and eventually began gifting them to her friends. Today she organizes her own workshop on this style of painting which is unique to Orissa and West Bengal. 

Actors like Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone seconded PM Modi’s views on the progress and achievements of the Indian woman. Kareena shared the following words on her Instagram handle. 

She hashtagged the post with #WomenSupportingWomen #MannKiBaat #PMOINDIA”, while Deepika took to Twitter and tweeted snippets from Prime Minister’s speech. 

In her tweet, Deepika tweeted Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world -Mahatma Gandhi.”

“These words couldn’t be truer for these incredible women and for every single woman around the world! #NariShakti #MannKiBaat @PMOIndia,” she added.

When the PM spoke about celebrating our freedom fighters, Richa Chaddha shared her favourite Inquilabi poem ‘Uktaye’ by Josh Malihabadi.
