Kareena Kapoor Khan Reflects on A Challenging 2025, Welcomes 2026 with Gratitude
Kareena Kapoor Khan reflects on a painful 2025 marked by Saif Ali Khan’s violent attack, entering 2026 with resilience and gratitude.
Kareena Kapoor Khan recently took to social media to look back on the year gone by, describing 2025 as one of the most difficult years for her family. Sharing a heartfelt post alongside a picture with husband Saif Ali Khan, she wrote, “As we sit down and reflect on the fact that we made it to the last day of the year… we walked this far.”
The actress opened up about the struggles they faced, noting that the year tested them deeply. “2025 has been a difficult year for us, our children and our families… But we went through it, heads held high, laughing and holding on. We cried a lot, we prayed and now we are here… 2025 taught us that human nature is fearless, love will conquer all, and that children are braver than we think,” she shared.
Kareena also expressed her gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their unwavering support. “We want to thank our fans, our friends, and everyone who stood by us and continues to support us… and above all, the lord almighty.”
Looking ahead to the new year, she signed off with positivity: “We are entering 2026 with a renewed fire in our bellies, immense gratitude and positivity, and an undying passion for what we do best... the movies... Like I always say, CHAR DI KALA. Happy New Year, everyone…!”
The year was especially tough for the family after Saif Ali Khan survived a violent attack at his residence in January 2025. The actor was hospitalised for nearly ten days with multiple stab wounds and a spinal injury.
Months later, Saif recounted the harrowing incident during his appearance on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. He revealed that his younger son Jeh and their nanny were also injured during the burglary attempt.
Describing the night, Saif said, “We had just gone to sleep. Kareena had been out, and I had finished watching movies with the boys. Around 2 a.m., Kareena returned, we spoke briefly, and then went to bed. Suddenly, the maid rushed in saying someone was in Jeh’s room asking for money. I barged in and saw a man with a knife standing over Jeh’s bed.”
The intruder had already hurt Jeh and the nanny before Saif confronted him. “I thought he was smaller than me, so I jumped on him. Jeh later told me it was a mistake, that I should have punched or kicked him instead. But I jumped, and we fought. He had two knives and started slashing me. I tried to block him, but then I felt a hard thump in my back. He cut me everywhere—my neck, my back—and there was blood all over.”
Saif recalled how his elder son Taimur panicked, fearing for his father’s life. “Taimur looked at me and thought I was going to die. I told him, ‘No, I don’t think so. I have pain in my back, but I’m fine.’”
Despite the trauma, Kareena and Saif have embraced resilience. The couple is currently vacationing with their sons, Taimur and Jeh, celebrating the arrival of 2026. Kareena has been sharing glimpses of their holiday on Instagram, radiating positivity and hope for the year ahead.
