King Charles Removes Prince Andrew’s Titles And Residence amid Epstein Fallout

King Charles has stripped his brother, Prince Andrew, of his title and forced him out of his Windsor residence, Royal Lodge.

He previously held the title Duke of York and lived at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

This step has been taken by the King following Prince Andrew’s close links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew is the third child of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to a BBC report, the two will move from their Windsor estate residence to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk County.

The Sandringham Estate is reportedly privately owned by King Charles III, who will also fund his brother’s stay there.

The official Buckingham Palace statement is as follows:

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles, and honours of Prince Andrew.

Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.

Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.

Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain, with the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Although he has been accused, Prince Andrew continues to deny all allegations.

“I will therefore no longer use the title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” Andrew said in a statement.

The controversy was ignited following revelations in a posthumous memoir by Virginia Giuffre, who alleged she was sexually abused by Prince Andrew and trafficked by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell when she was a teenager.

By dropping his royal title, Andrew will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

This decisive move by King Charles sends a clear message: any connection to abuse or scandal will not be tolerated within the modern British royal family.
