Kiara Advani, who was initially expected to star alongside Ranveer Singh in the upcoming action-thriller, has reportedly exited the project. Her departure, as per circulating reports, stems from her intention to “prioritise her personal life,” following the announcement of her pregnancy.
With Kiara stepping down, the production team has officially confirmed a new name stepping into the spotlight. Kriti Sanon has been announced as the new female lead in Don 3, replacing Advani in this high-profile role.
Farhan Akhtar’s production banner, Excel Entertainment, shared a formal press note confirming Kriti’s casting opposite Ranveer Sing. Akhtar, currently working on 120 Bahadur, is set to return to the director’s chair for Don 3. According to News 18, the official update stated: “He is also preparing for his next directorial venture, Don 3, which is expected to go on floors in January 2026. The film will feature Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon in leading roles. Casting for the film is underway, with the makers reportedly in talks with a top A-list actor to take on the intense antagonist role.”
Rumours about Kriti’s involvement gained traction when she was seen several times outside the Excel Entertainment office. Additionally, her heartfelt birthday wish for Ranveer Singh on Instagram added fuel to the speculations. She had written, “P.S. Looking forward to working with you soon!”, a cryptic yet telling message.
The casting carousel does not end there. Discussions have reportedly involved other industry heavyweights. Names like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Shah Rukh Khan have been whispered about for potential returns or cameos in the film’s third iteration. Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey has officially exited the project, while Aditya Roy Kapur and Vijay Deverakonda are speculated to be front-runners for the antagonist’s role.
In the midst of this cinematic shuffle, Kiara Advani and husband Sidharth Malhotra welcomed their first child, a baby girl, just two days ago. They shared the news via an emotive Instagram announcement, adding a personal milestone to Kiara’s eventful year.
