Experts believe that the movie will surpass the Rs 450 crore mark in a few weeks and will soon reach the Rs 500 crore club.

The mega successful film has been released in theatres across the world in five languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu Malayalam and Kannada.
Ponniyin Selvan is an epic historical action drama film which is based on a novel of the same name by late author Kalki Krishnamurthy.
The action packed drama revolves around the life of Chola Prince Arulmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) who went on to become emperor Raja Raja Chola I. Queen Nandini played by Aishwarya Rai is on a mission to seek vengeance.
The epic film has an enterprising cast that features names like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekhsmi, Sobhita Dhulipala and many more.
Talented A R Rehman is behind the musical score of the film.
After the super success of the first part of the Ponniyin Selvan series, the makers are gearing up for the post production work on the second part which is likely to be released next year.
