Canada-based Maple Assist Inc has now come up with an innovative mobile app with the objective of helping students from all over the world to pursue higher academic goals, joining premier Canadian institutes. As a starter, the Maple app will seek to reach out to global students markets across India, China, Philippines, Japan, Brazil and Mexico and connect them with leading Canadian colleges like Fanshawe College, Durham College, Georgian College and St. Clair College. It is projected that the app will support over 100,000 international students coming to Canada.
“Fanshawe College is excited to be one of the first adopters of the Maple Assist app. Following the adoption of this app, we are now able to wrap our arms around Indian students earlier in the process, and also to provide the opportunity for students and their families to make an informed decision about their programme, about Fanshawe, and about Canada. Basically, the app is an extension of who we are and that is ‘Fanshawe Cares'. Interestingly, a number of our graduates were recruited in the creation of the Fanshawe Assists app and we are immensely proud of them,” said Wendy Curtis, executive director (international) of Fanshawe College.
Significantly, Maple Assist Inc, which has a large operational base in India, has got this app developed in India.
Speaking on the need of such app, Vinay Chaudhry, founder and CEO of Maple Lead EduConnect Pvt Ltd, said, " Being an international student in Canada myself, I wanted to address the need for a genuine database of college information all in one place.” Maple Assist has also teamed up with Scotia Bank, Air Canada and HDFC Credila, and has understandably generated the interest of some leading players from the Canadian telecom sector and other service providers.
“This app is very useful for students coming to Canada for the first time,” said Kishan Jivani, a resident of Ontario, who is pursuing Practical Elements for Mechanical Engineering. Kuriakose Eldho of Cochin, studying Business Human Resources in Canada, said, "Its perfect!"
The app helps the students access a mine of useful information about any partnered Canadian college and their admission process. In addition to this, relevant information about preparing to settle in Canada, adopting its unique culture, are also provided. It is estimated that this initiative by Maple Assist, for which it has partnered with Scotia Bank, Air Canada and HDFC Credila, will help over 100,000 international students desiring to study and built their future in Canada.
The App, according to Chaudhry, was created with the objective of addressing the gap in the Canadian education system, which has been steadily gaining popularity as a study destination worldwide, but was missing a direct interface between potential students and individual colleges and universities. The app has been created on the basis of the insight gained from students’ experiences and official sources and the developers claim that the the app provides authentic and relevant information at one’s fingertips.
