When Biden was the Vice President from 2013 to 2017 during Barack Obama’s tenure, Vinay Reddy was his speech writer even then.
It is a matter of great pride for Indians because it is the first time a person having Indian roots has been appointed to be a speech writer to the President.
Vinay is one of the three sons of Narayana Reddy whose family hails from the small village in Karminagar district in Telangana. Narayana often visits the village and provides financial assistance whenever any projects are undertaken there. The family even owns acres of farmland and a house there.
After completing his MBBS from Osmania University, Narayana Reddy migrated to America in 1970. Vinay was born and raised in Dayton city of Ohio.
He is the alumnus of Ohio State University of College of Law and he specialises in political Science and Philosophy.
His first job was as a speech writer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He later worked as a translator for Kamala Harris and a speech writer for Joe Biden. Today Vinay Reddy is appointed as the Speechwriting Director of the Whitehouse.
