Mexican Model Vanessa Ponce is Crowned Miss World 2018

26-year-old model Mexican Model Vanessa Ponce is Crowned Miss World 2018, has won the 2018 Miss World beauty pageant. The Mexican model was crowned by the 2017 Miss World, Manushi Chhillar from India at the 68th edition of the pageant in Sanya City Arena, China. It is the first time a Miss Mexico winner has been crowned Miss World.

A volunteer for ‘Migrantes en el Camino’, Vanessa won Mexico’s Next Top Model in 2014. She has a degree in international business and works as the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls.

After her crowning, Vanessa said, I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it… And I think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. I will do as much as I can in the time I have got. Thank you so much, everyone”

In the annual contest, 20-year-old Nicolene Pichapa Limsnukan, who is also the Miss Thailand, emerged as the first runners-up at the pageant. Miss Belarus Maria Vasilevich, Miss Jamaica Khadijah Robinson and Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo made it to the final list of top five contestants.
