Miracle Boy Returns to Life, after Being Dead for Months
Trenton McKinley is back from the dead after a major accident.
In March, 13-year-old Trenton McKinley met with an accident that left him with seven skull fractures. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where the two emergency surgeries were done to remove parts of his skull. After the operations, the doctors informed his parents that even if survives, he would have very less brain function. Thus the doctors declared him Braindead.
After months in such a state his parents in consultation with Doctors decided to donate his organs and accordingly when they have initiated the paper works to take off his life support, he survived. Trenton started to show signs of life. “He was dead a total of 15 minutes”, said Jennifer Reindl, Trenton's mother. “He is a miracle and he just amazes everybody. There's no other explanation but God, There's no other way”.
Trenton McKinley has been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering at home and in coming months he will undergo surgery again to connect parts of his skull.
The accident happened in March, two months ago, when Trenton was playing with a friend in Alabama. While Trenton was riding in a small utility trailer while his friend was driving who all of a sudden hit the brake that caused the trailer to flip and land on the head of Trenton. “I hit the concrete and the trailer landed on top of my head, after that, I don’t remember anything ”, remembers Trenton.
His mother Jennifer Reindl says that her son was dead for 15 minutes when she first arrived with him in emergency at USA Medical Center in Mobile. “All I saw was a stretcher with his feet hanging out. He was dead a total of 15 minutes,” Jennifer said. Then after prolonged surgery doctor out to inform her that he will not be normal again. “They said he would never be normal again. They told me the oxidation problems would be so bad to his brain, that he would be a vegetable if he even made it.”
After days of brain dead, his parents decided to donate Trenton’s organs to five other children, who were waiting for an organ transplant in the hospital and his organs match them too. But there is god has some other plans for him, Trenton then started showing signs of activity in his brain, just a day before he was supposed to let off the life support system.
Apart from suffering multiple skull fractures, he has a kidney failure too, because of lack of oxygen after he suffered a cardiac arrest. All is not well yet, he continues to suffer from nerve pain every day, but is cheerful and is having a positive mindset.
So far he had undergone three brain surgeries and progressing with time at home. He says that when he unconscious after the accident, he felt like he was in heaven. “I was in an open field walking straight. There’s no other explanation, but God. There’s no other way. Even doctors said it.”
