Mumbai's Dharavi Shakes after 20 LPG Cylinders Explode
Fire breaks out in two places in Mumbai. The first one saves people, and no casualties are reported. The second case involves a security guard from the building who died at the hospital. 19 fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the fire.
Fire broke out at the PNG colony of Dharavi in Mumbai after a serial blast of LPG cylinders near the bus depot. The incident took place at about 10 PM on Tuesday, after which fire tenders reached the spot. No casualties have been reported so far. According to officials, they are present at the site and are available for any type of need. They also stated that the fire was under control.
The incident raised concerns as people panicked, leading to traffic congestion on the Sion-Dharavi link road. In another case in Mumbai, close to 4 people died after a 13-story building was engulfed in fire in the Vidhyavihar area. As per reports, the fire broke out at 4:35 am in Takshshila Co-operative housing society. The people who died in the incident include the security guard of the premises.
The fire engulfed and affected the first and second floors, where electronics and systems were kept, along with clothes and wooden furniture. In total, 5 flats were massively damaged. The structures of the buildings were massively damaged. It is estimated that close to 15 people have been rescued so far. The building has a ground floor and 12 more floors apart from a podium. The security guard, Uday Gagan, succumbed to his injuries at Rajawadi Hospital.
The blast was so powerful that the nearby cars were engulfed in flames, leading to chaos and panic among the people on the road. No injuries were reported on the road, and the situation was also brought under control. A total of 19 fire tenders were deployed, which controlled the situation in no time.
In another breaking news coming right from Haraya, a factory in Sonipat caught fire. Multiple fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the details of the casualties are still pending. The incident has also raised concerns regarding industrial safety as the industries need to ensure a safe practice based on which the safety of the employees can be made.
Authorities have not confirmed anything regarding the damage and the injuries. The preparedness of the factories will be assessed based on which safety measurements can be enhanced. Moreover, a safety assessment should also be conducted in the urban areas as future events may cause catastrophic experiences for the authorities and victims.
