Natasha Poonawalla Slayed The Red Carpet at Met Gala 2022 with Her ‘Golden’ Themed Look

Philanthropist and Executive Director of Serum Institute of India, Natasha Poonawalla rocked the red carpet at the fashion global event Met Gala 2022 in a desi exquisite Sabyasachi Saree. 

The grand event was held on May 2 at ‘The Metropolitan Museum of Art’ in New York co-hosted by Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda. 

Natasha carried her larger than life golden ensemble with utmost grace, oomph and confidence and looked nothing less than a celestial goddess. 

The glittering tulle saree with a long flowy trail was embellished with bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, sequins, and appliqued printed velvet. 

She also wore a metallic bustier by Schiaparelli which was an eye-catcher that complemented well with the handcrafted saree. 

Designer Sabyasachi was among the first who shared Mrs Poonawalla’s first look on his Insta account.

The jewellery that consisted of colourful precious and semi-precious stones were custom pieces from Sabyasachi’s Fine Jewellery and his Curiosity Art and Antiquity Project. 

The accessories included a beaded headband, long hanging earrings, rings and decorated bangles in both her hands. 

Speaking about choosing the traditional saree for the global event Sanyasachi wrote, “For me the sari is a truly unique and versatile garment that owns its identity even as it transcends boundaries and geographies. Back when I was a young fashion student, I often wondered when I would see the sari at big global fashion events like the Met Gala.” 

He added that for the event’s theme, “ ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’ Natasha’s vision to interpret the dress code ‘gilded glamour’ with an Indian gaze that revels in its multiculturalism and its authenticity.” 

The person behind styling Natasha is fashion stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania. Natasha Poonawalla whose name is synonymous with fashion and glamour received amazing reviews from fans.She’s a got a big thumbs up from her friends such as Kareena who wrote on her Insta story, “The one and only. Uff! Love, love , love.”
