Noida Doctor Performs Surgery on The Wrong Eyes of A 7-Year-Old Boy, Licence Canceled
Noida Hospital performs surgery in the right eye instead of the left eye. The family demands the revocation of the license of doctor and hospital to shut. Second case in 6 months
A boy from Noida underwent surgery on his right eye instead of his left eye. The incident happened in Anand Spectrum Hospital, Sector 1. The family of the victim upon getting informed about the situation, tortured the doctor and the staff as per the report. The situation escalated when the medical director was approached with a demand for revocation of the license and shutting the hospital was also one of the demands.
According to the reports, the entire charge of the operation was close to 45000 for one eye. Nitin Bhati, father of the boy took his son to the Hospital after he complained of the eye being watery. The doctors suggested that the condition could be improved by a minor operation. However, the doctors mistakenly conducted the surgery on his right eye instead of left eye leading to chaos and disruption in the hospital.
An investigation has begun by the police to ensure proper justice. A similar case was seen a few months ago when a 4-year-old kid was operated on her tongue instead of her fingers. The matter came to light when the mother of the victim found cotton stuffed inside the mouth of the kid. IPC 366 and 377 were imposed on the doctor and hospital.
The Government and Medical Association of India ordered a strong investigation regarding the case and to state the reason behind this wrong surgery. In response to the hospital’s claim, the family informed that "The hospital authorities informed us that it was a mistake as they had scheduled surgery for two children on the same date."
