Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has completed 50 years in Indian cinema this Thursday. On the occasion of achieving this grand milestone, there has been an outpour of wishes from the Indian film fraternity for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema spanning across five decades.

He began his career in 1969 with ‘Saat Hindustani’ and then went on to give superhits like Zanjeer, Deewar, Coolie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Don, Sholay and Piku eventually working in more than 190 films.
The veteran actor proved his acting skills across all genres beginning from romance, drama, action to comedy and he did them with ease and versatility. He didn’t stop at acting though. He proved to be a great poet, a thought-provoking writer, and an amazing singer too. He lent his baritone voice to numerous songs in Bollywood. He dabbled in politics for a short period with friend Rajiv Gandhi however it didn’t take him long to decipher that he’s not cut out for politics.
As much as his professional life, fans took a keen interest in his private life.

Mr. Bachchan who was born in Allahabad was initially named ‘Inquilaab’ that is derived from the phrase ‘Inquilaab Zindabaad’ which means “Long Live the Revolution.”
