Pakistani Woman’s Dance Performance And Post on IG Go Viral, with Divorce as The Theme

A Pakistani woman's dance performance, while speaking on the controversial topic of divorce, has sparked conversations on social media.

There is a deep-rooted stigma surrounding divorce in Pakistani society, particularly directed towards women," says Azima Ishan, a divorced mother of three.

She explained that women have to face judgment and uncertainty, especially in conservative communities.

She advises that being divorced is better than staying in a marriage where you can't breathe.

“To be stuck in an unhappy marriage is way worse than being divorced. I didn’t choose this journey lightly, I actually never wanted to be a divorcee but for me and my three kids? It was freedom. Even for my ex partner - it was the best decision for the both of us.”

She encouraged women not to compromise their happiness and well-being out of fear of judgment.

Her post on Instagram offers hope to women who have experienced or are currently going through similar struggles. She emphasizes that life doesn’t have to be frightening; in fact, for her, it's the complete opposite.

“I was told my life was over, I’d regret it, my life is going to go down hill and happiness? Forget it. The judgment still comes, but guess what? I dance through it. I laugh through it. Life isn’t as bad as I was told it would be. The opposite actually” 🙂‍↔️
