It depicts that Saina’s parents have primarily been the driving force behind their daughter’s badminton achievements.
Her parents played badminton for years. Nehwal’s mother has been a state-level champion in Haryana while her father was among the top players in the university circuit.
With her parents’ support coupled with her own hard-work, resilience, and perseverance Saina seems all set to achieve her goals.

Parineeti shared the trailer on International Women’s Day with these words, “This women's day I am proud to bring to you - SAINA. In cinemas March 26.”
Speaking of Parineeti’s performance in the biographical movie Saina expressed, “Everything is quite surreal. What I have achieved in life is all due to the constant support of my family. It has been my huge honour to play a sport I love and put my country on a pedestal while achieving my dream. Parineeti is a fabulous actor and we both connected so easily when we met.”
Saina was very involved with the project and offered her complete support to the film’s team. Parineeti revealed, “We had full support of Saina. She gave us access to her life. I would call her, video call her and she would answer all my questions. That way pressure management was better.”
Parineeti also admitted that she got a close peek into Saina’s life and understood it from various angles which otherwise she was not aware of.
“Amol sir spent time with the family and got the real emotions out. What the mother felt when Saina was eating a meal, what the father felt when they didn't have money, what the sister felt when she was training. The behind the scenes of the world class player. That was a winning point for me,” she added.
