Pele Leaves a Message for His Fans; Says He’s Strong with a Lot of Hope

Legendary Brazilian footballer Pele who is battling colon cancer has put out a message for his fans. He said that he is strong and is recovering.

On Saturday some reports claimed that he had been moved to end-of-life support as he has stopped responding to chemotherapy treatment. Now, however, the doctors have said that the Brazilian footballer is doing fine.

Pele’s daughter has also admitted that the reports regarding Pele’s deteriorating health were false. He was admitted last Tuesday for a chemotherapy evaluation.

He is taking antibiotics for a treatment as well as receiving chemotherapy for his cancer in Albert Einstein Hospital.

Pele’s message read,My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive. I am strong with a lot of hope and I follow my treatment as usual. I want to thank the entire medical and nursing team for all the care I have received. I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you all over the world keeps me full of energy. And watch Brazil in the World Cup too. Thank you so much for everything.”

He underwent cancer treatment after a colon in his tumour was removed in September 2021.

Pele is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time and has numerous accolades to his name. He was named the athlete of the century by the International Olympic committee.

His name is recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records for scoring 1279 goals in 1363 games. He is the only player to win three FIFA World Cups in 1958,1962 and 1970.

As a kind gesture to the footballer, buildings in Qatar where the 2022 FIFA World Cup is being held, displayed messages wishing the Brazilian footballer a speedy recovery.
