President Trump Is Criticized for Smiling and Giving a Thumbs up Alongside an Orphan Kid

American President Donald Trump has again come under the public scanner for flashing a smile and giving thumbs up alongside a 2-month-old baby who survived the shooting at Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

The baby was fortunate enough to survive the attack albeit he lost both his parents- Jordan and Andre Anchondo in the massacre. The baby’s mother fell on him while she was shot therefore he suffered broken fingers.

The baby was brought to the same hospital, Trump was visiting. The President and the first lady clicked a picture alongside Baby Paul. In the picture, Melania Trump can be seen fondly holding the baby in her arms while Mr. President gave a thumbs up, smilingly.

The picture that was first shared on Melania’s Twitter account didn’t go down well with some Americans. Some followers felt that smiling and giving a thumbs-up was not the right gesture, keeping in mind that the child just lost his parents in a ghastly massacre.

While the baby’s uncle Tito Anchondo who stood next to the President told El Paso times that they were republicans and that his brother was a great Trump supporter. He told the newspaper agency, “I want him [Trump] to know our family stands with the president.” He also desired to tell Trump about his brother and how he protected the family that day.

He told another newspaper agency earlier that he wanted to personally see if the president is genuine and whether he regretted passing comments against immigration invasion earlier. He supported the President when he said that Trump was in the hospital to console and empathize like any other human being. There was absolutely no “political agenda.” The White House officials, however, have told Washington Post that they’ve advised Donald Trump to present an empathetic approach while meeting the survivors.
