Prince William and Kate Welcome Their Second son, ‘Arthur’ Seems to be the Hot Favorite Name

Prince William and Kate welcomed their third child on Monday, 23 April. Kate was hospitalized in the early hours of Monday and at 11:01 am the baby was born. The official statement read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well." A second tweet read: "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."

After a few hours, the siblings of the newborn came to meet their young brother and mum Kate from Kensington Palace on Monday. They were brought to the hospital by their father Prince William. George, four was a bit shy, but his sister Charlotte, two, was in an upbeat mood and confidently waved at the press. She continued smiling and waving at the cameras while climbing up the steps.

George looked cute and handsome in his school uniform as he had attended school earlier at Thomas's Battersea while Charlotte was dressed in a blue floral dress and a cardigan.

Prince William and Kate introduced the third child to the world from the steps of Lindo wing on Monday evening. They looked happy and proud as they posed with their second son on the steps of St Mary’s Hospital. They waved and smiled at the waiting press. Prince William and Kate exchanged a few words as they were standing which left the world wondering and guessing what they spoke.

A lip reader has tried to decipher what was spoken. According to him, Kate was a bit worried about her newborn catching a cold. In his version of the conversation, William asked his wife, "Are you ok with him?" to which Kate replied with a smile, "Yes." After recognizing someone in the crowd, the Prince said: "Look, there he is. Over there". "Let's just wave over there," Kate continued, as they waved to the right, before telling her husband: "It's a bit windy. He might get cold. Let's go now." "Sure," William replied.

The Duchess glowed and looked pretty in a red dress which reminded the onlookers of Princess Diana’s dress when she and Prince Charles introduced Prince Harry to the world. The Duchess chose the same designer, Jenny Packham she had chosen following the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

While leaving for home at Kensington Palace, Prince William spoke a few lines saying he and Kate were "very happy, very delighted." He joked, "Thrice the worry now!" When asked about the child’s name, he replied, "You'll find out very soon."

The world is now eager to know what the little one will be named. Many feel the Royal couple will name their second son - ‘Arthur’ and it is the bookie’ favorite too. It seems they gave a clue while they were posing on the steps of Lindo wing as they searched the crowd for the royal photographer - Arthur J Edwards. They waved at him when they found him. ‘Arthur’ also happens to be Prince Charles' middle name, one of William's middle name and was also a middle name of King George VI, the Queen’s father. The name ‘Phillip’ also happens to be a hot favorite as William and Charles have Philip as the middle name, and Philip is the name of the Queen's 96-year-old husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. ‘Thomas’ is a common name in Kate’s family and could stand a chance.

Good wishes have been pouring in and Michelle Obama congratulated the Royal couple. The former first lady has made known that she is planning a pajama-themed party at Kensington Palace with the newborn and his brother and sister, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Michelle congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on social media saying, "Barack and I are thrilled to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their newest arrival!" she wrote. "We hope to meet him soon for a Kensington Palace pajama party. I'll wear my robe!"
