Radhika Apte Says That she’s Enjoying Her Quarantine Break

Radhika Apte is currently enjoying her quarantine period with her musician husband Benedict Taylor in London. She’s savouring her long break as it has given her time to pause and reflect on so many aspects of her life. The lockdown has also given her time to tap into her writing skills, something which she desired to do since many years.

She is featuring with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a Netflix series called ‘Raat Akeli Hai’ which will premiere on Netflix on July 31.

Nawazuddin acts as an inspector Jatil Yadav who is investigating a murder case of a wealthy politician while Radhika is one of the suspects who gives him clues. Honey Trehan is making his debut through this series.

The actress who began her career with a small role in a Hindi film called ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!’ has come a long way in her career despite opting for unconventional roles. She was not afraid to experiment and play with her character choices despite being a newcomer. Every role was different be it ‘Parched’, ‘Pad Man’ or ‘Sacred Games.’

She told DC that she has a penchant to take up challenging roles and she focuses on what she can get out of the project.

“I get bored if I have to do the same thing repeatedly, so I choose subjects which are challenging and exciting enough to work on,” she revealed.

The “OTT queen” received a positive response from fans on Over the Top (OTT) platform despite acting in 40 films and three short films. The ‘Parched’ actress believes that OTT platforms today provide actors with immense opportunities to shine due to the varied content they offer.

When asked about dealing with trolls on social media, Apte said, “I don’t like social media but I do it because it’s a huge part of my job. I have restricted it to 10 minutes a day now. I don’t actually listen to slut-shaming and trolling. Social media criticism never bothered me. I do things that I am convinced with and I do them with all my heart.”
