Ravi Shastri Revealed by ‘83’ Makers, Meet the Youngest of the Devils!

The ‘83’ makers have unfolded the face for Ravi Shastri in their recent character poster and the look has already gone viral over social media. Dhairya Karwa, who was last seen in ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’, has stepped into the shoes of the flamboyant former Indian cricketer, Ravi Shastri.

Here’s the look:

Shastri, who was the youngest of the legendary ‘83 World Cup team, is known for his gripping commentary skills in the second innings of his career, and he serves as the head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team, at present.

On playing this celebrated sports personality, actor Dhairya Karwa said to a media house, “I really want to meet him (Ravi Shastri), because I keep hearing amazing stories about him. He has been a part of my cricket experience of the 90s and early 2000’s. So, when I landed the part, I thought that I should read up everything about Ravi sir. I’ve been watching all his interviews and videos to get his body language right. I’ve also been playing cricket for five months now, and the focus is to pick up his style. It’s challenging because I am a natural right-arm, and he was a left-arm bowler. I’m also working on my diction and his style of speaking.”

‘83’, directed by Kabir Khan, is a sports drama based on India’s historic first-ever cricket world cup win, with special focus on then captain Kapil Dev. Star actor Ranveer Singh is donning the ‘Haryana Hurricane’ on-screen.

The film hits the theatres on 10 April 2020.
