Remembering Junior Mehmood: A Life Filled with Laughter and Entertainment

Last night, the film industry mourned the loss of veteran actor Junior Mehmood, who passed away at 67 in Mumbai after bravely battling cancer. His career, spanning over five decades, witnessed his incredible talent in more than 250 films.

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that he was fighting stage 4 cancer, and sadly, his condition took a turn for the worse last night, leading to his passing at his home in Mumbai.

Junior Mehmood, whose real name was Naeem Sayyed, was a part of several iconic films, leaving an indelible mark in movies like Kati Patang, Mera Naam Joker, Parvarish, and Do Aur Do Paanch. He began his journey as a child actor with the film 'Naunihal' in 1967, starring alongside Sanjeev Kumar, Balraj Sahni, and Indrani Mukherjee. From that point onwards, he adopted the stage name Junior Mehmood, etching it into the history of Indian cinema. Beyond acting in numerous films, he also ventured into producing several Marathi films.

In a touching moment, comedian and actor Johnny Lever recently visited Junior Mehmood, who expressed his wish to meet actors Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar. Both actors fulfilled his desire, reminiscing about their shared experiences. Junior Mehmood had collaborated with Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar on multiple films, including 'Bachpan', 'Geet Gaata Chal', and 'Brahmachari'. His contributions weren't confined to the silver screen alone; he graced numerous stage shows across India and abroad, leaving a lasting impact on audiences.
