The Karan Johar film will easily cross the Rs 100 crore mark. The movie had a slow start initially however it picked up with word of mouth and written reviews later on.
People have appreciated Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s electrifying performance and Karan Johar’s directorial skills.
The team behind the film had a success meet on Thursday where Ranveer Singh spoke about his box office track record.
He said that he doesn't understand the language of the number game. He rather choses to focus on his “craft, performance and character” and do his best to contribute to what is truly a collaborative effort.
“As they say, you learn more from your failures than your successes and I have learnt a few things in the recent past. At the moment, I’m delighted at the love being shown towards Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. I’m very grateful”, the actor said.
The movie follows the love story of Rocky played by Ranveer and Rani played by Alia Bhat who hail from different cultural backgrounds.Rocky hails from a wealthy punjabi family while Alia is from a Bengali background. Rani’s family gives importance to knowledge and intelligence. The couple realises that the families don’t like each other. They decide to interchange their families in order to win them over.
The chemistry between Ranveer and Alia has been appreciated by the masses. Many people appreciated the good old charm feel of the film. Although the movie may have a few faults, the film will keep you engaged right till the end.
The movie brings up some relevant topics that affect our society. Social stigmas and stereotypes have been questioned in the film. The movie is said to be a visual treat with songs shot in foreign locations. The movie is infused with drama, romance, and humour. One cinemagoer has described the movie as a complete package.
