Rohullah Mehdi Arrested in Mumbai Drug Case; Police Seize MD Worth ₹5.60 Lakh

Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in the film Deva, has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case in Mumbai.

According to police, the case came to light after investigators received information about the suspected sale of MD through social media platforms, including Snapchat and WhatsApp. Acting on the tip-off, officers reportedly arranged a decoy operation to catch a suspected supplier.

A man identified as Kasif was allegedly called to the Thakur Mall area near Dahisar Check Naka to deliver 28 grams of MD. Police reportedly intercepted him during the alleged transaction. During questioning, he allegedly provided information that led investigators to Mehdi.

Police subsequently arrested Mehdi outside a studio in Malad, where he was reportedly shooting at the time. Authorities said 28 grams of the suspected drug were seized, with an estimated street value of around ₹5.60 lakh. Mehdi has reportedly been named as the main accused in FIR No. 437/2026.

Following his arrest, Mehdi was produced before a court and was reportedly remanded to five days of police custody. Investigators are now trying to establish the extent of the alleged network and determine whether the accused supplied drugs to other individuals. Police are also examining whether anyone else may be connected to the case.

Mehdi, who is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, has been working in Mumbai as an actor and model. Besides his appearance in Deva, he has also reportedly featured in web series.

The investigation is still underway, and police have not publicly identified any other film personalities as accused in the case. The allegations against Mehdi remain subject to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
