Rumours around Aishwarya and Abhishek: Prahlad Kakkar Sets the Record Straight
Prahlad Kakkar debunks rumors of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan leaving her marital home, clarifying she visits her unwell mother daily. The couple’s dignified silence and joint appearances continue to quell speculation about their marriage.
For years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage has been the epicenter of public attention, and rumours of separation never seem to vanish. Recently, speculation suggested that Aishwarya had moved out of the Bachchan residence and shifted to her mother’s home. However, advertising veteran Prahlad Kakkar, who has closely observed Aishwarya’s career since her formative years, dismissed these claims and clarified the situation.
What’s Really Happening
Kakkar, who resides in the same building as Aishwarya’s mother in Mumbai, explained that the actress has not abandoned the Bachan household. Instead, she frequently visits her ailing mother during the mornings after dropping her daughter Aradhya at Ambani School.
"I don't think there is any truth (to them). I live in the same building, and I know how much time Aish spends in the building, and there's a valid reason for that. Her mother is unwell. She drops her daughter off at the Ambani school, and she has to pick her up at 1 pm, so she has three hours to kill. She spends those three hours with her mother. Then she picks up her daughter and goes home," he explained.
Addressing the alleged discord between Aishwarya and her mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan or sister-in-law Shweta Bachchan, Kakkar remarked, "So what? She's still the bahu of the house. She still runs the house."
He further emphasized, "Everyone is saying she's escaping from her marriage and living with her mother. But she's only visiting her mother in the mornings while her daughter is at school. On Sundays, she didn't come. I knew she was very close to her mother and was very concerned about her. Sometimes, Abhishek also came. So what's the big deal? Why would he come if she was running away from him?"
Kakkar lauded the couple for their composed approach, stating, "She has always maintained her dignity, right through her career."
The Background and Speculations
Aishwarya and Abhishek have long been subjected to conjecture, with every appearance or absence sparking commentary. Yet, the couple has often debunked the chatter by attending public events together. Earlier this year, they were spotted at Aishwarya’s cousin Shloka Shetty’s brother’s wedding in Pune, accompanied by Aaradhya. They were also seen at Aaradhya’s school function, a star-studded reception, and her birthday celebration.
Still, whispers of separation intensified when the couple arrived separately at a high-profile wedding last year, and Abhishek’s social media activity added fuel to the fire.
On the professional frontier, Aishwarya last appeared in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: II, reprising her role as Nandini. Abhishek was most recently seen in the Amazon Prime original Be Happy.
