Sachin Tendulkar Will Meet Fan after 19 Long Years Who Gave Him Valuable Batting Advice

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has been on the lookout of a hotel staff who had given him valuable advice concerning his batting during his cricketing days. He was a staff of the Taj hotels. And now it looks like the two of them are going to finally meet after 19 long years.

Tendulkar wrote on Twitter that he met the Taj staff at Taj Coromandel, Chennai where he gave Tendulkar some valuable advice regarding his elbow guard after which Sachin redesigned it. He said that it was a chance encounter and a memorable one too. Nineteen years later Tendulkar wished to meet him and what better way than to turn to the internet for help.

Fortunately, the hotel was successful in connecting the two of them. The Taj team took pride as the concerned staff was associated with the Taj group of hotels and the one who made an impact on Tendulkar. 

The concerned hotel staff named Guruprasad can be seen posing with Sachin below. 

Years back Guruprasad told Tendulkar, “Whenever I see you wear an arm guard, your bat swing changes.” He added that he was a huge fan of him and that he would rewind his batting five to seven times and thus was able to observe this change. Sachin later redesigned the elbow guard to the correct size. Sachin told him that he was the only person who had figured this out. 

News18 Tamil Nadu recently connected with Guruprasad in his Perambur home. When Guruprasad was asked how he knew that the arm guard needed change, Guruprasad said, “With an arm guard, I noticed that something was different. As far as Indian cricketers are concerned, the wrist is everything. From Sachin to Virat Kohli they all depend on their wrist when on strike.” After this conversation, Sachin worked on the advice and went on to score 200 in a series in South Africa. 

Guruprasad is amazed that Sachin still remembers him after so many years as the conversation lasted about a minute. He got to hear the good news from his nephew who lives abroad. Speaking about his meet with Sachin, Guruprasad said, “I was elated and I am really looking forward to meeting him. I have nothing to offer him now but my prayers for his and his family's good health and long life.”
